The cabinets arrived, but we still have a bit to do
before we can install the base units and stove.
The beaded board needs prepped and painted, and the floor
pulled up, hardwood patched and refinished. That sounds so easy.

The desk for the computer and the refrigerator go on this wall.
There will be an island for the microwave and Jenn-Aire.
Emma is checking to see if the microwave will fit.

The hardwood floor was there, but had a few more problems than we had hoped. Judging from all the holes made for plumbing,
the sink has been
in several places, and, at one time, there was a washer and dryer in the kitchen, too. We have many
holes to patch, therefore, we've taken up many of the boards to cover the holes and to restore the traffic
areas that had water damage with more suitable, yet original, material.
In the picture above, the wall to the left is where the built in
cabinet will go. There was a lot of water damage in this area.
And below is what we ended up with on December 13. It's just beautiful, and just right for this kitchen Every square in of the floor is original material from 1920.
